Hazelnut Green Beans

Green beans are such a hearty and simple side to cook up. These make a great pairing for any holiday feast or weeknight dinner and the lemon zest and hazelnuts jazz up the flavor and add some extra crunch.

Ingredients

1lb Green Beans, trimmed and cut in half
2 tablespoons Olive Oil use code TRAILTOHEALTH for 10% off
½ Shallot, finely chopped
1 Garlic Clove, minced
¼ cup water as needed
½ teaspoon Lemon Zest
½ cup Hazelnuts


Directions

1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil, shallots and garlic and saute until fragrant and translucent.

2. Add the green beans and start to saute and coat in oil mixture.

3. After 1-2 minutes, add the water as needed to steam the green beans for a few minutes until the water cooks out.

4. Add the lemon zest and hazelnuts and give it a quick saute and transfer to a serving dish.
